Home - Our journey begins

Why we are adopting...
We have been married for almost 16 years (feels like a lifetime ^_^) but, there are still ONLY 2 of us.  We have tried in vitro fertilization (IVF) but that ended in a miscarriage.

There is always a BUT!!! Thanks to my parents for asking a great question to the right person and relaying the answer. The spark from that answer is now a fire.

The good news.....
We have always discussed adoption...way back when we were dating.  :-)
Now we are blessed to be in the middle of a home study with a great case working and agency for infant adoption. The more we complete, the shorter the timeline gets.

Our goal....
To share with friends and family out journey as we make our way through the process and ask for your support, through prayer and/or financially. The total cost of the adoption is $10,000 - $12,000. Our goal is to raise $5,000.

Now - we are facing the hardest part of the phase - the cost. While our hearts are excited and we have the wonderful support of our family, we are getting closer and closer to face those hard facts.

Things we know....

  • The cost is high - $10,000 - $12,000
  • We need help with $5,000 - our goal
  • We need your help if you are able. Every penny is treasured and adds up! The money will go towards the adoption and legal fees.

We are very grateful for all of the love and support that we have received during this awesome road to building our family. We can't wait to share the arrival of our child with all our family and friends.

Home - Where we are in the process

We are currently in the middle of the HOMESTUDY - the story of your life!!!

We have completed the following items and a few more on our list:
FBI and GBI fingerprinting
Drug tests
30 page application
50% complete - another 20 pages of paperwork
2 interviews with the case worker - 1 together, 1 individual
IMPACT training

It feels like a lot of work, BUT this is actually going really fast. We get nervous, excited, scared, apprehensive!!!

Ready to complete these and move on to the next phase.

Day to Day - We are Blessed

Blessed in a way that brings God's presence closer than you have ever know it...

Blessed in a way that assures you of the plans He has for your life...

Blessed in a way that fills your heart with a thousand "thank-yous" for all that His hand will bring your way.

May the Lord continually Bless You with heaven's blessings as well as with human joys. Psalm 128:5

Day to Day - Thanksgiving

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving... be thankful unto Him, and bless His name. Psalm 100:4

Day to Day - A prayer for today

God, you do all things on your time. You know what we new before we need it. Impress upon those who may be at odds, that their decisions and their hopes will be received by the Father from all of us. Let them know that their decision of hope is not a light one but one created by faith.

All these things I ask in your name,
Amen

We just had our 16th anniversary! Isn't God good? On to the next year!!!!

Day to Day - Still moving forward

Apologize again for our absence but this week has been one of the greatest in a while. We have completed our first week as new business owners. We trusted God and prayed hard and He partnered us with an investors who is God fearing and just wants to be a steward for the universe. While he knows he can't he has definitely touch our hearts with his help and his humbleness and his actions. It is really contagious when you are around that for 8 to 10 hours a day. All we want to do is succeed and provide opportunities for our new addition. Every decision we make is to play this game of chess called life, and continually put ourselves in better positions for us and the baby.

On the the baby...
We have had a few situations come our way but we are patiently waiting for a little girl. I have been working with the team that completed our home study. They have identified an adoption agency that works throughout the United States, but want to do their due diligence on them first, just to make sure the situations will be favorable for us.

Ok... on to week 2 in this next and exciting chapter in our lives!

Day to Day - God is Good!

There have been a lot of things going on in our lives over the past three week. What seems to be a bad situation, turns out to be a blessing in disguise and a totally new chapter in our lives. We are excited about the change and the connections to others we have made. We have aligned ourselves with some very influential and powerful people who believe in our career and personal goals. In turn, they have put us in a position of enormous opportunity. I know I am pretty vague at the moment, but I can say that this is for me and Joe and the future little one who will be in our loves soon - our family.

God is good. All the time. You just have to be humble and patient and not miss the opportunity when it crosses your path.

Again. GOD is GOOD!!!! ALL THE TIME!!!!

Day to Day - Friendship

It's had been a minute since I posted. Lots of meetings, for a lot of great things to come. I wanted to post this and continue to moe forward.

In this place, we kneel down beside you.
In this place, we reach out our hands.
In this place, can you hear us whisper?
"You have been hurt. We can see the pain in your eyes--
We offer you a promise of friendship."
- Ann Voskamp, (in)courage writer
We have spoken freely to you, and opened wide our hearts to you. 2 Corinthians 6:11
